Ministry of Defence published a series of information on the activities carried out by the Romanian Army, but also on how the Romanian military combines the rigor of training with the spirit of camaraderie and international commitment.
Ministry of Defence states that within the multinational exercise MĂRĂŞEŞTI25, conducted under the generic name "Highland Games", the participating forces demonstrated that seriousness in preparation can go hand in hand with goodwill and cooperation.
The entire day was dedicated to unconventional competitions, such as the "Highland Games", designed to relax the atmosphere after training hours and strengthen the bonds between comrades. Romanian soldiers, together with their colleagues from Italy and the Republic of Moldova, as well as gendarmes from Tulcea, participated in tests of strength, balance and coordination, transforming each challenge into an opportunity to get to know each other better and share experiences.
The Ministry of Defense also states that despite the natural rivalry of the competition, the smiles and applause were what ultimately outlined the picture of an undeniable win: team spirit.
Just a few days after this festive moment, the Frigate "King Ferdinand" triumphantly returned to the military port of Constanţa. After more than 40 days spent in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea, the Romanian warship concluded its participation in Operation EUNAVFOR MED IRINI, an initiative of the European Union aimed at ensuring the implementation of the arms embargo imposed on Libya.
The Ministry of Defense also explains that during the mission, the frigate joined the naval group composed of French, Greek and Italian units, and actively contributed to the patrolling and surveillance of sensitive maritime areas. For the Romanian Naval Forces, this was the fourth mission within Operation IRINI, highlighting the firmness with which Romania supports European efforts to promote regional security and stability.
Also in the immediate following period, the "Dacian Pumas" air detachment, integrated into the EUFOR Althea mission, took part in the Combined Response 25 exercise, organized by the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina in collaboration with EUFOR.
The Ministry of Defense also explains that the main purpose of these maneuvers was to perfect Peace Support Operations (PSO) tactics at the company and battalion levels. Through complex scenarios, the military practiced rapid response to critical situations, coordination with multinational forces, and the use of advanced communication and aerial reconnaissance systems.
In parallel, in Slovakia, the "Black Lions" Anti-Tank Platoon - rotation I - participated, between June 1 and 11, in the multinational exercise STRONG LINEAGE 25. The training took place in various terrain conditions and included a live-fire sequence, organized on the occasion of Distinguished Visitors Day.
The Ministry of Defense notes that His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain and the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, were present, who witnessed, along with NATO officials, the live-fire demonstration. This training phase aimed to test the Alliance's capacity to raise the Battle Group in Slovakia to brigade level.
Overall, the events coordinated by the Ministry of Defense demonstrate a balance between the tough disciplines of military training and activities designed to strengthen troop solidarity.
From the Highland Games to Operation IRINI, through peace support exercises and anti-tank maneuvers, Romania affirms its commitment to the values of strategic partnerships and to maintaining stability in the region. Continuing on this path, our soldiers demonstrate that professional excellence does not exclude, but, on the contrary, feeds on trust and camaraderie among them.
