Odysseus is a program developed to allow us to do downgrade of iOS using SHSHs previously saved with TinyUmbrella, the program being launched on June 8 by a group of hackers that also includes former developers of jailbreak solutions.
Odysseus iOS downgrade it is only compatible with terminals that have an A4, A5 or A6 chip, so only devices that have chips with 32-bit processors, those launched with an A7 or A8 chip not being supported by the developers for now, although anything is possible in the future.
Odysseus iOS downgrade it is only possible on terminals that have jailbroken previously, only on those that have valid SHSH saved with a valid APTicket, OpenSSH having to be installed in the terminal so that the whole procedure can be carried out successfully.
Basically Odysseus iOS downgrade can be used on :
- iPhone 4;
- iPhone 4S;
- iPhone 5;
- iPhone 5C;
- iPad 2;
- iPad 3;
- iPad 4;
- iPad Mini;
- iPod Touch 4G;
- iPod Touch 5G.
List of terminals compatible with Odysseus iOS downgrade it is very small, but the worst part comes only now, the program works for now only on the Linux operating system, so if you have Windows or OS X you will not be able to benefit from what it offers.
The whole procedure of performing an Odysseus iOS downgrade is complicated and only advanced users will know how to run the commands in Linux to complete the entire process, so for now the program is not intended for normal users.
Even so, Odysseus iOS downgrade could be available in an easier-to-use format with SHSHs saved through TinyUmbrella, but no one can say if we will have compatibility with the latest terminals released by Apple.
Despite this, the fact that Odysseus iOS downgrade has been released offers a hope that in the future we will be able to downgrade to any version we want, but we will have to be patient until everything is available outside of Linux.
