The fingerprint reader of the Samsung Galaxy S5 was tricked by hackers (Video)

A few months after the launch iPhone 5S American hackers managed to fool the system touch ID which works in the base the fingerprint reader implemented in the device, but it was never hacked in the true sense of the word. Exactly the same procedure was recently applied for Samsung Galaxy S5, a hacker making a mold of his fingerprint and using it to unlock a Samsung Galaxy S5 which had the fingerprint reader active, that fingerprint being scanned and printed in high resolution.

The difference between touch ID and the fingerprint reading system from Samsung Galaxy S5 lies in the fact that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), implemented a higher security system than the one present in the terminal Samsung. More specifically, Apple requires the use of a security code when resetting the terminals, fingerprint reading being disabled, Samsung not having a similar system. Because of this, any hacker can restart the terminal whenever he wants and can use a latex fingerprint, even to use payments made through Paypal.

Although the situations in which someone would take your fingerprint and steal your Samsung Galaxy S5 terminal to make payments and retrieve information are very rare, Samsung must improve its system.
