Video streaming between iPhones - Update

knock Well, it seems that Steve Jobs is ready to throw a crack at iPhone users who want to share their lives directly from the phone. For a few days now, there has been an application in the AppStore called Knocking Live Video that allows iPhone users to stream live images filmed with the help of the camera. This application has a rather interesting story behind it, which in a rather dark period for Steve Jobs' AppStore, casts a very favorable light on it. Due to the fact that the application uses a private API, it was initially rejected by the people who deal with the acceptance of the applications, but its creator Brian Meehan did not let himself be beaten one by one and sent an email directly to Steve Jobs, on Saturday, November 21, in which he tried to explain how beneficial the introduction of such an AppStore would be. Also according to his words, on the following Monday, Brian was contacted by an Apple executive who informed him that the application would be accepted, which happened after 3 hours.

But what exactly does this application do if it was able to make Steve Jobs reverse the decision of his "specialists"? As I said above, it transmits live images captured with the phone image, but thanks to its API, the images are not taken directly from the camera but from the phone screen. Once the application is open, log in to your Knock account, then aim the camera at what you want to show the other person and the images that appear on the phone screen will be streamed directly to the other person's phone, without the need to edit, upload the images to some secondary site. The creator went so far as to invent a new term, "visual tweeting" and I have to agree with him. An application that allows live streaming has been awaited for a very long time and by introducing Knocking Live Video, we mark another thing that other phones cannot do, at least not without paying the costs of 3G minutes.

Everything sounds very nice, but I hope it's not just a method to attract some people's sympathy regarding Jobs' power to change something. We all know he has it, this is just an example that he can use it, the question is, will he do it on a large scale?

If I've piqued your interest, now comes the good part, the application is free in the AppStore and can be downloaded from here, for now it's not ready, the website doesn't allow registration either, but I don't think there's much left.

PS: now you can sign up for the program, download the application to your phone and become a user!
