Almost 50% of the internet traffic made from mobile terminals belongs to the iPhone OS

Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), hold fast, almost 50% of all traffic on the Internet from mobile terminals comes from iDevices, and this taking into account the fact that the percentage of devices equipped with iPhone OS who connect to the Internet decreased by 4% in March compared to the same period in February.

From the total traffic made on the Internet from iDevices, the statistics look like this:

  • 39% was made from the iPhone 3GS;
  • 25% off iPod Touch 2G;
  • 20% from the iPhone 3G, the rest being shared by the other terminals;
  • 44% of the traffic came from terminals that had firmware 3.1.3 installed;
  • 42% came from terminals with firmware 3.1.2, the rest of the traffic being shared for the other firmware versions.

The number of those who have 3.1.3 firmware is downright impressive, almost half of those who own an iDevice updated voluntarily or not to firmware 3.1.3, while the number of those who stayed with 3.1.2 firmware is almost as big, and I'm glad that not everyone blindly updated to the latest firmware version from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),.

Looking at the graphs, I noticed that the respective 4% on which Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), lost them last month they were shared between the systems Android si Symbian, with 1 or 3% increase for each. Could this be a sign that Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), losing ground to competitors? Or maybe the world is preparing for the new one iPhone and give up the old terminals? I tend to go towards the 2nd assumption, there are still 2 months and some are trying to get a good price on the old terminals, and using a transition device is the best solution while waiting for the new one iPhone.
