pwntunes is an application that will soon be available in Cydia, and I personally consider it more than useful for anyone who wants to get rid of iTunes or how the program of those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),. Through pwntunes you can :
- Copy photos from the Camera Roll to any computer;
- Copy music from iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch to PC and vice versa, from PC to terminal;
- Synchronize the copied songs with the iPod application from the terminal, once the music is copied to the right folder, it will be automatically synchronized with the iPod application;
- Use your phone as a USB stick, basically you can copy absolutely anything to it and to access the content you only need the USB cable.
pwntunes will be the simplest method to copy anything to your terminal, but more than that it will give you the possibility to save the media files from the terminal to the PC if you need to synchronize the phone with iTunes on another computer.
Folders in which you must copy the content are:
- DCIM: for pictures/videos taken with the phone's camera;
- iTunes Music: here you can copy your favorite songs, but they will NOT be synchronized with the iPod application;
- Move: here you can copy any file you want;
- My Music: in this folder copy the music/movies that will be synchronized with the iPod application on the phone.
pwntunes will soon be available in Cydia, I for one can't wait for it, it will be the simplest method to copy anything to the phone without having to go through the whole back-up/synchronization process imposed by .
