Today p0sixninja, a very active member of the Chronic Dev team, posted on his personal blog a article in which he talks, among other things, about the jailbreak/decoding solutions that we can expect after the official release of iPhone OS 4.0 this month. First of all, p0sixninja announces that shortly after the availability of iPhone 4G/HD we will have the decoding solution discovered by Sherif Hashim for baseband 05.12.01, I don't know if it will be for that baseband or if the vulnerability is also found in the new baseband in iPhone OS 4.0 and the decoding will be for the new baseband. So, after the iPhone 4G/HD release, the Dev Team will release the decoding solution that I know you've been waiting for for several months already.
In addition to the new decoding solution, posixninja also talks about the launch of a new untethered jailbreak solution, the one that geohot introduced a already but did not use it, which will most likely be used to jailbreak iPhone OS 4.0 for all devices with new bootrom.
Finally, the same p0sixninja mentions a new bootrom exploit that only geohot and those from Chronic Dev know about, an exploit that seems to be the "father" of all exploits and, I hope, will also be used to jailbreak the new iPhones 4G/HD.
