iBGStar is an accessory for iPhone and iPod Touch that allows you to check your blood glucose level using an Apple terminal. The accessory connects to the USB port of an iPhone and iPod Touch, analyzes the blood and the results are displayed directly on the terminal screen. The idea is really very interesting but it is not unique, anyway it is the first implementation of this kind that would be produced on a large scale for iDevices users.
The innovative iBGStar™ is the first available blood glucose meter that seamlessly connects to the iPhone® and iPod touch® allowing you to view and analyze accurate, reliable information in 'real time'. Using the technology built into your iPhone® or iPod® touch, you can share this information with your healthcare professional while on-the-go, to help you make better-informed diabetes-related decisions together.
The accessory should also be used with a case that will allow continuous connection to the device for an unlimited period. iBGStar can display information even without being connected to an iPhone/iPod Touch, but the dedicated application displays much more information than the device itself. For now, everything is in the project stage, but it is assumed that it will cost around $80.
