Google has finally launched the iOS version of the famous application Google Goggles which allows us to find out information about certain objects just by simply photographing them. Google Goggles was initially released for Android (and it was normal for Google to do this), but now the application has become available for iDevices, but it will not be an application in itself, it is about the implementation of Google Goggles in the Google Mobile App from the AppStore. Google Goggles analyzes the information from the pictures taken by you and depending on the recognized elements, it will search Google for information about them and will display them directly in the application. Looking at the video clip above, you can see that you can search for information about any kind of object: from a building to a simple book, and I believe that Google Goggles will soon become a necessary application for any person who wants to be informed about everything in the environment.

Computer vision is a hard problem and Google Goggles is still a Labs product. It works well for things such as landmarks, logos and the covers of books, DVDs and games. However, it doesn't yet work for some things you might want to try like animals, plants or food.

Google Mobile App with Google Goggles is now available in the Apple App Store. Just search for "Google Mobile App" and download the latest version - it's free. It will gradually be appearing in all App Stores around the world starting from today.

As I said above, the Google Goggles service is only available through the Google Mobile App that you can download from here.
