The prices of iPhone terminals could increase

Foxconn, the main supplier of components for iPhone terminals but also one of the manufacturers of this type of terminals, will increase the prices for the components sold from its factories this month. This increase will be imposed only on certain customers: Apple, Nokia, Microsoft and Sony Ericsson, and will ultimately lead to an increase in the price of the products sold by these companies. the reason cited of Foxconn, for this increase in the prices for the products sold but also in the production costs, regards the recent wave of suicides that took place within the company. We talked a few months ago about the cases of some Foxconn employees who, due to the fact that they could not support themselves from the salary offered by the company, resorted to this desperate gesture. Unfortunately, those from Foxconn did not manage to solve the problem even through a salary increase, so now they are trying to obtain additional funds from the price increase in order to improve the living and working conditions of the employees who live and work in the industrial areas owned by Foxconn.

If Foxconn goes all the way and imposes an increase in prices, then Apple will be affected and will probably increase the price for iDevices, maybe even this year or from the next generation of products. I, for one, consider that the final price of iDevices is much too high compared to the production price, and I consider that an increase in price would seriously affect the company's sales.
