Apple sold over 14 million iPhone terminals, 4 million iPad tablets and collected $21 billion

During last night's conference, Apple presented its financial situation for the fourth quarter of this year and the figures show the extraordinarily good situation in which the company is at the moment. Apple generated revenues of $20.34 billion in this quarter, of which $4.31 billion represents the company's profit after taxes, an absolutely colossal amount for any company. The amount is all the more surprising because it is almost double the receipts and profit recorded by Apple last year, a sign that iDevices were in great demand during this period of time.

In addition to financial information, Apple also presented the statistics regarding the sales of iDevices, thus the company managed to sell:

  • 14.1 million iPhone terminals - 91% more than in the same period last year;
  • 3.89 million Macs - 27% more than last year;
  • 9.05 million iPods - 11% less than last year;
  • 4.19 million iPad tablets;
  • 250.000 Apple TV products.

Among all these products, it is quite clear that the iPhone is the iDevice that generates the most sales and probably the biggest profit for the company. It was expected to be so considering that Apple barely managed to produce enough units to cover the demand on the market at the moment. Apple is one of the most powerful companies in the world and it will certainly not lose its place too soon if it continues to make good products that will be successful.
