The Samsung Galaxy S2 could be twice as powerful as the iPhone 2

The Samsung Galaxy S is perhaps the best-selling smartphone in the history of Samsung and is definitely a strong competitor for the iPhone 4. Many people chose to buy a Samsung Galaxy S over an iPhone 3GS/4 or switch from an iPhone 3GS/4 to a Samsung Galaxy S, some of them being completely disappointed by Androi OS but others managed to adapt and are happy with the change. At the moment, most smartphones on the market have 1Ghz processors with 512MB RAM (except for the iPhone 4, which apparently could have a slightly slower processor), but the future Samsung Galaxy S2 could have somewhat more interesting specifications :

  • 2Ghz processor, probably the next generation of Hummingbird processors from Samsung;
  • 1GB RAM plus 4GB ROM;
  • internal memory of 32GB plus the possibility of adding a microSD card with a capacity of another 32GB;
  • 8 megapixel camera with the ability to film full HD at a resolution of 1920×1080, compared to 1280×720 as current cameras can;
  • 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280×720;
  • GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi b/g/n, accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensors and ambient light;
  • Android OS 3.0 Gingerbread.

To be honest, these specifications seem to be more worthy of a tablet than a smartphone, but they could be quite accurate if we look at how much technology has advanced in recent years. If so we see such a smartphone launched by Samsung at the beginning of next year, then the rest of the terminals on the market will definitely be forgotten.
