It costs more to produce an iPad than a Samsung Galaxy Tab

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has had a few reviews in the last days and of course that after this one followed disassembly of it plus a check of all the components and an estimate of the production price. It seems that Samsung pays only $214,57 to produce a Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet unlike Apple which pays a little over $260 to produce the iPad tablet. Of course, this price difference comes from the fact that the 2 manufacturers use different components in their tablets, but among them the biggest price difference is found in the touchscreen for which Apple pays more, but it is normal considering that it is much bigger.

Another key point of the price differences lies in the price of the processor for which Samsung pays only $8 compared to Apple which pays $26, but in the case of the iPad tablet it is assumed that the price of the A4 chip also includes the price of the RAM. Of course, the Samsung tablet has 2 cameras, a gyroscope, plus a few other small things, in addition to the iPad tablet, but the iPad has a larger screen and a more powerful battery plus slightly higher production costs.

In the end, the Samsung Galaxy Tab tablet has a lower production price but a shelf price equal to that of the iPad tablet, so it's not just Apple who inflates its prices unjustifiably.
