The Sony PlayStation Phone, the future device that Sony Ericsson is working on now, could be available on the market as early as April 2011 and could Numi Xperia Play. About the Sony PlayStation Phone we know that it will be a combination between a smartphone and a PSP, it will run Android OS (probably 2.3), it will have a 1Ghz processor, 512MB Ram, 1GB ROM and a capacitive screen of 3.7 - 4.1 inches.

The rumor about the name came later registration of the Xperia Play domain by Sony Ericsson, but shortly after the company registered several other domains: Xperia Arc, Xperia Duo and Xperia Neo, so it is quite difficult to guess which of them will carry the new terminal. Sony is betting on an interesting concept for this terminal and I hope it will be well received, but if there are no games dedicated to that mini gamepad then the whole idea will prove to be a big big failure.

My opinion is that Apple should do something similar for the iPod Touch. You will say that I have gone crazy, but the touchscreen is absolutely not gaming friendly and a gamepad (even as an accessory) could represent a very useful evolution for iPod Touches.

  1. In principiu, depinde de pret.
