Sherif Hashim, the one who found and developed the exploit in the new decoding solution for iPhone 4, made an interesting statement on his Twitter account. According to it, the Dev Team establishes a calendar for the release of new jailbreak and unlock solutions, a calendar that is always strictly respected to ensure the possibility of jailbreaking and unlocking in the future. Before launching a new solution, the Dev Team let at least 2 months pass for the launch of the jailbreak solutions and a little more than that for the unlock ones.

The Dev Team sets this calendar to ensure that they don't release a jailbreak/unlock solution right before a new version of iOS is released, thus wasting an exploit. Looking at everything objectively, this planning method is beneficial for the international iPhone community. For most, this method is very frustrating because many times iDevices users have to wait for months until they can use their terminals to their maximum potential.

So, now you know why the Dev Team does what it does, I know it won't warm you up with anything, but a little insight into the way of thinking of this team is welcome.

One more thing... Sherif Hasim is a neurosurgeon in Egypt, and an iPhone baseband hacker on the Internet.
