Personal HotSpot for iPhone 4. What it means and what it is used for.

The Verizon version of the iPhone 4 comes with a new and very useful function for iDevices users: Personal HotSpot. This new function has been available on Android terminals for a long time, but Apple found some time to implement it in iOS 4.2.5. Practically, this new function will give us the opportunity to turn the iPhone terminal into a mobile hotspot for other devices, more precisely you will be able to share your Internet connection via Wi-Fi with other smartphones, laptops/etc. Personally, I find this function extremely useful for situations where you don't have a cable to do Internet tethering or you don't have a jailbreak to install the MyWi application.

For now, this function is only available for the iPhone 4 CDMA for Verizon, but I think that Apple will soon introduce it for the terminals already on the market, otherwise it risks "getting a lot of customers confused". It is not yet known if the function will also work on the iPad or the iPhone 3GS/3G, but theoretically we should have it on the first 2 devices.

What do you think, is this function useful or not?
