iOS 4.3 beta 1 – first impressions

iOS 4.3 beta 1 is available for a few days for developers of applications for the iOS platform. A day after the launch, I decided to install it on the iPhone 4 terminal provided and to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised by the way this *beta* version of iOS 4.3 works. iOS 4.2.1 has certain performance problems and I say this because the transitions between menus sometimes lag, some applications open/close a little hard, in general the system moves a little harder than you would have expected it to do on an iPhone 4. With iOS 4.3, the situation is slightly different in the sense that there is no longer such a big lag when transitioning between menus, applications respond somewhat better to commands, the system having a somewhat shorter response time.

I was pleasantly surprised by the new baseband 04.08.00 in iPhone 4 because I noticed that the connection to the data network is much faster, the internet works a bit better than with the old baseband and I no longer encounter constant blocks while browsing the internet. On the Wi-Fi side, I noticed a slight improvement in browsing speed and that's about it. I didn't do speed tests and it wouldn't make sense considering that I have a UPC connection limited to 15Mbps.

Of course, there are also dissatisfactions, but for now I have quite a few. The AppStore application has a problem with the update process, that is, the application itself shows that an update is available when in fact there is none. When I had several applications open in the background and tried to play Angry Birds, I noticed that the game was difficult to open and there was some lag in the perception of actions, but the situation was quickly resolved without closing any application.

That's all about iOS 4.3 beta 1 for now. I like how it works, I don't have a jailbreak, I don't really want to go back to iOS 4.2.1 and I don't think I will in the near future.

What experiences have you had with iOS 4.3 beta 1?
