Video: FreeSync 2.0 available - allows the use of the terminal during synchronization with iTunes

About the FreeSync application I have spoken almost a week ago when we were telling you that it allows users to use the terminal during a synchronization with iTunes. Basically, when you synchronize the device with iTunes, it will be blocked because Apple does not allow users to modify data from the terminal during synchronization because it would corrupt the iTunes library database. FreeSync eliminates this limitation and allows us to use the terminal without any restrictions during synchronization, the only problem being that the iPod application must be closed and left like that during synchronization.

The new version brings a toggle for SBSettings plus the option to block applications automatically during synchronization, so you won't have to worry about corrupting the backup data.

Here are the changes:

  • improved performances.
  • rewrote Preferences.
  • added Status Bar Item as options for visual alerts. It resides on the status bar while the device is syncing.
  • added option to show an (awesome) HUD when the sync starts/ends.
  • added options to disable AppStore app, Cydia and iPod app during sync.
  • added support for SBSettings toggle
  • improved memory management during sync

Version 2.0 will be available in Cydia for only $1 and as a free upgrade for those who have already purchased it.
