The untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.2.1 will no longer require SHSH from Cydia

The Dev Team announced today that it has successfully ported the technique called Jailbreak Monte to the iOS 4.1 kernel. This means that when the untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.2.1 will be available, we will no longer have to untethered jailbreak using SHSH for iOS 4.2 beta 3 from Cydia, but we will use iOS 4.1 directly. The Dev Team has been accused of encouraging piracy through this jailbreak solution that requires the use of a version of iOS available only to developers, but as iOS 4.1 is available to everyone directly from Apple, no one will have to hack iOS anymore and there will be no need for SHSHs, which most do not even have.

The untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.2.1 will come in the form of the redsn0w 0.9.7 program that should be released in the near future for Windows and Mac. Given that the Dev Team does not use a new exploit in this untethered jailbreak solution, it will be released before the official release of iOS 4.3, and for iOS 4.3 either the same technique or another exploit will be used.

I don't know why, but I have the impression that the new technique has something to do with the film publicat by Chronic Dev Team a few days ago. All of a sudden, so many jailbreak methods have emerged.
