Viber is an application available in the AppStore that allows iDevice owners to make free VoIP calls with other contacts in the phonebook who have the Viber application installed. The application works with any iDevice, it does not require registering a username or paying any fee, all you have to do is enter the phone number of the contact who has Viber installed and start calling. The application will automatically show you which of your contacts are part of the Viber network, so you will immediately know who you can call. The application allows initiating and receiving calls through the 3G or Wi-Fi network.
The new version of the application brings a very important function for checking the quality of the call and I say it is important because through it you can find out when you are in an area with a weak signal where the connection is much slower and the audio quality is much slower. Here's everything that's new in Viber 1.1:
New functions
- Call quality indicator: keep track of your call quality with the new call quality indicator! During a Viber call, you'll find the indicator at the top right-hand corner of your call screen. This will show you the quality of your network, which affects your Viber conversation quality.
- Privacy policy: We respect your privacy. View the policy right off of the Viber application – simply go to the 'More' tab and click on Privacy Policy.
Fixed bugs
- Voice quality improvement: our top priority is to deliver the best audio calls. We made changes and improvements to make it even better...!
- Call connection improvement: did some of your Viber calls get stuck on 'Answering…'? Or did you not hear your friend well at the beginning of your conversation?
- We made fixes based on your feedback and requests. Let us know if you still experience any of these issues.
- Bluetooth improvement: Bluetooth support is now working much better on Viber. So talk with a free Viber call, and hands free as well.
