Last evening, the official account of iTunes AppStore appeared on Twitter, the company considering that it is time for the largest application store in the world to be represented on Twitter as well. The account has not yet been verified by Twitter, but the first tweet published on the account was shared by another account for the iTunes Music Store, so we know for sure that the AppStore account belongs to Apple. The role of this account is not yet known, but in the first tweet it is mentioned that new applications, special offers, etc. will be announced, so it is possible that Apple will collaborate with certain application developers to offer certain promotions.

Apple already has several accounts on Twitter for the iTunes Music Store and for the stores through which they rent video films. Apple also has one page on Facebook dedicated specifically to the AppStore, so switching to Twitter was necessary considering that it is one of the largest social networks in the US and in the world.
