You all know the information about the Samsung Galaxy Tab, so I have to resume the topic, but about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 we are only now finding out the first unofficial information about the tablet's hardware specifications. It seems that the new tablet will be much more powerful from a hardware point of view than the previous version, moreover if the information is true then the tablet could be much better equipped than the iPad 2.

Here are the technical specifications:

  • Nvidia Tegra 2 platform;
  • 1 Ghz dual-core processor;
  • 1GB RAM.
  • Super AMOLED screen (maybe 3D) with a resolution of 2048 x 1200;
  • Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the possibility of upgrading to 3.0 Honeycomb;
  • 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash capable of filming HD in 1080p format;
  • 3 megapixel front camera;
  • 3G, Wi-Fi, BlueTooth 3.0 and USB;
  • accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope and compass;
  • possibility to use a maximum 64GB SD card.

To be honest, these specifications look too good to be true, especially those related to the screen, which for me seem to be far beyond what the tablet will offer. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 will have a 7-inch screen like its younger sister and will probably be a bit more expensive, but if it starts with Android 2.3 it's "dead" from the start.

What do you think, could people opt for such a tablet instead of an iPad tablet?
