For some time I have been looking to activate an internet option on my iPhone that would offer me a certain amount of monthly traffic that would meet my requirements. After long discussions with several representatives of the Orange company, I finally reached someone who could offer me an option that fits exactly my needs. You will laugh, but the option he is talking about is Net News and it costs only 2 euros per month. For 2 euros per month, I receive 50 MB of traffic on any page on the Internet plus free traffic from the Orange Portal on mobile at m.ziare.com, m.hotnews.ro, m.realitatea.net, m.gandul.info, m. prosport.ro, m.cancan.ro, m.gsp.ro, m.adevarul.ro, m.orange.ro.
Ok, that was the preamble, the interesting part just now follows: with this option (and what I will say now is valid for all of the "net" offer) I can activate additional traffic packages of 100MB each. A 100MB traffic package costs only 0.5€, that is 50 cents, that is a quarter of the cost of the Net News option. Basically, you can activate as many 100MB packages as you want for only €0.5, with no recharge limit, no limits regarding internet traffic, no limit. Based on this idea, I activated my 1GB traffic for only 5 euros and I pay 7 euros for 1050MB of Internet traffic plus free traffic in the sites mentioned above. The good part is that I can activate any packages I want if I don't have enough 1050MB and each 100MB package costs only 50 cents. If you exceed the included traffic, you will pay 20 cents for each MB consumed.
Orange has introduced an interesting facility for those who have an option from the offer Net activated, that is, when you consume 80% of the available traffic, you will receive a warning message to know whether to limit yourself or to recharge the subscription with traffic packages. Regarding internet browsing speed, you benefit from 3.6 Mbps download and 1.4 Mbps upload.
Activating the option is simple, it is done by calling the Orange call center or by sending a free SMS with the text NEWS to 321. Activating an additional 100MB package is done by sending an SMS with the text REFILL also to 321. The bad part is that you have to send a message for each activation of a package, and this takes about half an hour because the activations are quite difficult.
Before I paid 6 euros for 500MB, now I pay 7 euros for 1050MB and I think that 1 euro extra for doubling the traffic is worth the effort to send the messages to 321. This offer is also available for Prepay customers, only that there is added to the normal rates VAT, on the other hand, for subscribers, the rates already include VAT. In the discussions with the Orange representatives, I was offered the switch to either a 6GB internet package for 15 euros, or Mysmartphone Plus. It is true that those 6 GB at 15 euros have a lower cost/MB than this option, but for me 6 GB of traffic is far too much at a price that I would have no reason to pay. For average use the offer is very good, for those who do tethering they need more expensive options with more included traffic and of course unlimited traffic after consuming the included one.
Options Net can be combined with any other option that does not have unlimited internet. If you have a Pantera or My Smartphone subscription, you can add Net News at half price, 1 euro per month instead of 2 and you can recharge.
