Last week the president of China Mobile says that he is in advanced discussions with Apple to produce an iPhone terminal compatible with the LTE standard. This week, several job offers regarding the implementation of this technology in future iDevices were discovered on the Apple website. It is not the first time that Apple lists offers for jobs which also includes the criterion regarding knowledge about LTE networks, but it is the first time that it lists a job offer through which it is looking for people with advanced knowledge about the implementation of this technology in mobile terminals.
Specific Duties
– Implementation, Integration, customization, enhancement and maintenance of L1-3 Protocols for one or more of the following air interface: GSM/UMTS, CDMA (1x/EVDO), LTE etc.
Interestingly, the job is available in Shanghai China, that is exactly where we heard the first official confirmation of the implementation of this standard in iDevices. This type of LTE networks are available through the CDMA standard, so we are talking about terminals that will have no use in Romania at the moment.
