Dev Team just released PwnageTool 4.2 which allows us to make a custom ipsw for iOS 4.2.1. Using this custom ipsw we will be able to update to iOS 4.2 1 without updating the baseband but we will also have an untethered jailbreak. The new version of PwnageTool works with the following devices:
- iPhone3G
- iPhone3GS
- iPhone4
- iPhone4-Verizon
- iPod touch 3G
- iPod touch 4G
- iPad
- Apple TV 2G
The new version has solved the problems with iBooks for iDevices plus the one with Wi-Fi for Apple TV 2G. In the following days, some applications will be available in Cydia that will solve this problem for those who do not use PwnageTool. It seems that there is already an untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.3, so we won't have long to wait!
