Apple could implement in iPad 2 a new very thin screen model

From all the sources close to the Apple company comes information indicating that the iPad 2 will be much thinner than the current model available on the market. To produce such a thin device Apple has to design a new manufacturing process for screens and it seems that the iPad 2 will have a new very thin screen model. It is logical that it should be so considering that the tablet is only half the thickness of the current model, so the internal components were most likely repositioned and reduced. Unfortunately, this new model of screens could cause production problems for Apple and some argue that these problems could have the effect of limited availability on launch day.

"It appears that Apple is once again pushing the technology envelope by making the device far thinner than the original iPad, and the iPad 2's ultra-thin glass screen is generating yield issues," the analyst wrote. "This appears to be more of a process problem as opposed to a technology problem, and we wouldn't be surprised to see volumes ramp fairly quickly as the process improves."

I think that iPad 2 will be available in "limited" quantities anyway, that is, up to a million copies in the USA and a few hundred thousand in Great Britain, where it is assumed that it will be launched at the same time. No Apple product will be available in sufficient quantities unless it is no longer so sought after because there are millions of customers who want to buy Apple products and only hundreds of thousands of units available for purchase.
