iPad with iOS 4.3 faster web browsing, poorer overall performance

iOS 4.3 has just been released and those from Slashgear they have already installed it on an iPad tablet and have already made 2 very important benchmarks for any owner of this tablet. First of all, we are talking about the SunSpider JavaScript benchmark that "stresses" the Safari browser and as you can see in the image above, the iPad with iOS 4.3 is almost 3 times faster than the iPad with iOS 4.2.1. I already knew the result the other day when those from cNET they tested iPad 2 and iPad in an attempt to find out how much faster the new tablet is compared to the old model.

In terms of general performance, SlashGer used the Geekbench application which unfortunately showed poorer results for the iPad with iOS 4.3 compared to the iPad with iOS 4.2.1. The difference is minor and will certainly not be felt when working with the tablet, but as a benchmark the result is negative. In conclusion, the iPad 2 should load web pages almost 3 times faster, but this performance increase depends a lot on the type of website you access.

iPad iOS 4.2.1: 453
iPad iOS 4.3: 448
