I explained to you a few days ago how the option will work Personal HotSpot with operators in Romania and now I come with some additions that will help you understand why Personal HotSpot works or not for you. Before starting please read This article to understand what this new function is all about. Now that you have read, let me tell you that this function can be activated from: Settings>General>Network>Personal HotSpot. The option will be automatically available to you if you use Cosmote or Orange and will not be available if you use Vodafone (with the latest carrier bundle) or Digi Mobil (it doesn't appear to me).
The Personal HotSpot option only works on iPhone 4.
Orange – the Personal HotSpot function replaces Internet tethering, which is activated at Orange Romania by activating the option Modem in your subscription. The option costs 4 euros per month and without it you will not be able to activate Personal HotSpot without jailbreaking.
Cosmote – you have the Personal HotSpot option activated for free.
Vodafone - if you have the latest Carrier Bundle installed, you will not be able to activate this option because Vodafone does not offer it. As far as I know, Vodafone does not have any option in its offer that allows you to activate Personal HotSpot.
Digi Mobil - the same situation as in the case of Vodafone.
If you don't want to pay Orange or wait until Vodafone launches an option for Personal HotSpot, you can jailbreak iOS 4.3 (after it appears) and install TetherMe or MyWi to activate the option.
