Could iPad 2 replace classic consoles? Games look just as good on HD screens!

The new HDMI adapter for iPad, iPad 2, iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G could turn the classic consoles into pure junk considering that we can scale the image on the screen of our tablet on a television screen. Infinity Blade, Real Racing 2 are just some early examples of how gaming on iDevices can be transformed. Game developers can use the power of the graphics chip in the iPad 2 to make games with HD graphics capable of being scaled to 1080p monitors, just like the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360, and iDevices would see simple gamepads in our hands.

Is it worth buying the $10 game to play it on an iDevice and a large screen? Of course it's worth it, but for now the games for iDevices are not as complex as those for consoles and I don't think they ever will be. Even if we won't be able to play Grand Turismo 5 (although I have big doubts here), Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, with gameplay like on consoles, we could still have similar and slightly more complex games than what we have now in the AppStore. I've said it and I'll say it again, I can't wait for the tablet to arrive and to get an adapter for it because I can't wait to see how it works.

What do you think, can the iPad 2 "steal" the console market share?
