I have already announced that the iDevice.ro application is again available in the AppStore, thanks to Victor who managed to convince the people from Apple that we (me, iDevice.ro and you visitors) deserve to have this application. Many of you have asked me what was the reason for the withdrawal and I have to explain it to you because it will be the basis of an important change. The application was reported to Apple by certain people, who will remain anonymous for now, and the AppStore restricted the application due to an article about jailbreak. I asked them why other sites have applications in the AppStore and write about jailbreak, but ours is removed and the answer was: We are not discussing our application approval policy.
In these conditions, to avoid new complaints made by the same people, who only wish us "the best", we made the decision to filter the articles about jailbreak from the mobile theme of the site. In order for the application to be available in the AppStore, we will filter articles about jailbreak for the Safari browser so that any access from the application or from Safari will not display articles that present tutorials or information strictly related to jailbreak. Accesses from Opera or Skyfire will display the full content and nothing will be filtered on the desktop version. The forum was also removed from the application to avoid a new withdrawal of the application.
What you see in the image above is a beta version of the new application and yes it works in landscape mode now. I received the new beta version only today, I am testing it and I would like some beta testers to help us eliminate the bugs. I am mainly interested in people who have an iPad and would like to test the application, so please leave a comment if you are willing to do tests.
