Sherif Hashim resumes his activity in search of unlocking solutions

After the revolution in Egypt, it was normal for Sherif Hashim to disappear from the "public" attention for a while and take care of himself and his family, but last night the neurosurgeon hacker announced that he is returning to the work he does for iPhone users. Specifically, Sherif Hashim discovered a vulnerability in the baseband of the iPhone 4 that MuscleNerd used to unlock a T-Mobile card that he had around the house. I don't know if Sherif Hashim has other vulnerabilities ready or if he will find others with which MuscleNerd will unlock other T-Mobile cards or maybe those of a European or Canadian operator, but he will probably try to find a vulnerability for iOS 5.

Don't get too excited about this return of Sherif Hashim because now it's too late to release an unlock solution considering that iOS 5 will most likely be released in the summer. If it will be like this, then the unlock solution will be available somewhere around July/August because Apple will not release beta versions of iOS 5 and the Dev Team will have nothing to work on.
