How to activate video mirroring on iPhone 4

I told you a few days ago how you can activate the video mirroring function on an iPad tablet with the help of a change made in an iOS system file. By default from iOS 4.3/4.3.1 this video mirroring is not enabled on iPad or iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4G which are compatible with the HDMI adapter released by Apple almost a month ago. Yesterday I also received one and of course it didn't work on the iPhone 4 in any way, so I had to resort to the method below to activate it. The method is identical as in the case of the iPad tablet, the only difference is that the N90AP.plist file is edited. The editing of the file must be done from a Mac using the Proprety List editor, otherwise the function will not be activated.

  1. Install iOS 4.3 on iPhone and jailbreak, you have tutorials here.
  2. Connect to the iOS file system with ifunbox, WinSCP, Cyberduck, etc. and navigate to system/library/coreservices/springboard.app;
  3. Copy the N90AP.plist file to the computer;
  4. Using a text editor for .plist files (I recommend a Mac with the default text editor) add the line of code display-mirroring with the guy boolean and set its value YES. Do this in the capabilities category.
  5. Put the modified file in the same folder where you downloaded it and reset the terminal. When you come back you should be able to do video mirroring.
