Apple renews its partnership with Google, the Google Maps service will be present in iOS 5

Last night Eric Schmid was the guest of the All things Digital and during a conference he declared that Apple and Google have renewed the contract regarding the use of Google Maps in iOS. I knew from last week that iOS 5 will use still Google Maps, but today came the official confirmation from the former CEO of Google. Of course, together with the Google Maps service, we will also have the search service from Google, which will remain integrated in Safari for iOS. Unfortunately, continued cooperation with Google can only mean that Apple has not yet developed the Maps application using its own mapping system and unfortunately has not implemented the turn-by-turn navigation system that we all expected.

In conclusion, we have one more year left with the Maps application which will require an internet connection and of course we will have to use iGo or Navigon in areas where we have no signal or the signal is insufficiently strong to maintain an active internet connection.
