The Wi-Fi Sync function in iOS 5 inspired by the Wi-Fi Sync application?

WiFi Sync is the function in iOS 5 that allows us to synchronize our terminal with iTunes via a Wi-Fi network. iDevice owners have been clamoring for this feature for a long time, and it came close to hitting the App Store last year when Greg Hughes, a UK-based app developer, submitted his Wi-Fi Sync app to Apple for approval. in the App Store. Of course, his application was rejected, the official reason being the existence of security problems that users might encounter when using the application. We don't know how true this reason is, but I can tell you that Wi-Fi Sync was a big source of problems for those who wanted to restore after installing the application. The application itself saw a server program that had to be installed on the computer and that program blocked the restore function of iTunes.

Even with the existence of these problems, the application reached Cydia, where it was bought no less than 50.000 times, even though it costs $9.99. In a simple calculation, the amount won by the developer amounts to several hundred thousand dollars, and this in the conditions where the price is high and Cydia does not have as many users as the App Store. Well, Wi-Fi Sync was popular and now it was inevitable that the world would wonder if Apple was inspired by the functionality of this application when it implemented Wi-Fi Sync in iOS 5.

There will be many people who will accuse Apple of stealing from developers and maybe this is the truth but in reality we cannot prove that Apple does this and even if we could prove it nothing would happen because Wi-Fi Sync does not it was protected by a patent. The fact that Apple "borrows" functions of some paid applications and offers them for free brings benefits not only for the company but also for us who will not have to jailbreak and pay $10 to synchronize iDevices via Wi-Fi with iTunes . In the future, Apple will "borrow" functions from others and in the end we all stand to gain.

Asteptam tigru` sa dea cu galeata de laturi in c3ch. Ma duc dupa popcorn…
