Comex may have a bootrom exploit for the iPad 2

Today new information appeared about the iPhone 5 and its possible international launch at the end of August. The organizers of MyGreatFest, the first and largest convention dedicated to the international jailbreak community, hastened to announce that a jailbreak for the iPhone 5 could be presented at the convention. p0sixninja immediately responded on Twitter and suggested that comex could solve this problem in September after the possible launch of the iPhone 5 terminal.

If what p0sixninja says is true, then comex could have a bootrom exploit for the A5 chip in the iPad 2, a chip that we will most likely find in the iPhone 5. If it has this bootrom exploit, then we will be able to do a tethered jailbreak for any device with chip A5 regardless of the version of iOS 5 that we have. There is still a chance that comex has a userland exploit found in iOS 5 beta 1, but that exploit could be closed by Apple, so it could disappear from the final version of iOS 5.

My opinion is that at the moment the promotion of MyGreatFest is more important for the organizers and they are just trying to attract a little attention.
