Apple could surpass HP in terms of PC sales

Many analysts classify the iPad tablet as a portable PC, putting it in the same category as notebooks. Thanks to this classification, in 2010 Apple was the third largest producer of PCs in the world, surpassing strong names in the industry. This year the iPad tablet remains in the same category and together with MacBooks could represent almost a third of all mobile PCs sold globally. It is estimated that this year Apple will sell around 60 million iPad tablets and 15 million Macs, surpassing the HP company that could sell only 40-50 million mobile PCs.

Apple could remain this year in the top mobile PC manufacturers, but I for one believe that the iPad tablet should be classified in a separate category. It is not a PC, it does not offer users the same functions, it is dependent on a PC, so it should not be considered an independent device. However, it seems that some financial analysts think differently and ultimately their opinion matters the most.
