The new MacBook Air series will be available next week, it will have a 128 GB SSD

After all the rumors presented so far from various sources, here is an information that is much more certain than the rest that have appeared so far. Those from AllthingsDigital support that the new MacBook Air series will be available next week and not this week as everyone knew. In addition to the release date, it is confirmed that the new Macs will have 128 GB SSDs and, in addition, the illuminated keyboards will be re-implemented in the design, although the current version of the MacBook Air does not have such a thing.

So, look for an announcement Thursday or Friday, with the new hardware spec'ing out pretty much the way reports in AppleInsider and elsewhere have described: New Sandy Bridge processors from Intel, support for Apple's new high-speed Thunderbolt port, backlit keyboards and a winnowing down of configuration options to 128GB and 256GB of flash storage.

AllThingsDigital has so far been a reliable source of information about Apple products and a lot of their information has turned out to be true or very close to the truth. The MacBook Air will clearly not be launched this week, so if you are interested in such a product, you will have to wait until next week to buy it. The new MacBook Air will have Thunderbolt technology implemented, will have processors with the Sandy Bridge platform and will keep the same thin design.
