Images like the above will become a funny memory in the future because certain states in the US they introduced legislation which provides for the fining of people who write SMS while walking on the street or riding a bicycle. Of course, the law does not only refer to writing SMS messages, but generally refers to writing messages on the phone instead of directing attention to the pedestrian crossing or the portion of the road dedicated to cyclists. Some states have introduced fines of up to $120 for violating these provisions, and other states have begun issuing warnings to those who text while walking on the street.
The USA started by fining drivers who write messages while driving, now they continue with those who write messages while walking on the street and probably in a few years the use of mobile phones on the street will be prohibited because it distracts us. The idea is good, I don't know how successful it will be because many Americans are "addicted" to text messages and no, I don't think such a law could be introduced in Romania. The good part is that applications like Type While Walking will register good sales in the App Store.
