The HTC company is willing to pay for the licensing of some Apple technologies

A few weeks ago, I told you that Apple won a claim filed against the HTC company regarding patent infringement before the court of an American government agency. Apple claimed that HTC infringed 2 patents when a built a part of the Android terminals from their own offer and after several appearances, the people from HTC failed to convince the court of the veracity of their own defenses. Since then, HTC's lawyers have tried to obtain a formula that would allow them to win a possible trial before a US court, but it seems that everything will end with a technology licensing agreement.

"We have to sit down and figure it out," Winston Yung, chief financial officer of the Taoyuan, Taiwan-based company, said by phone today. We're open to having discussions. We are open to all sorts of solutions, as long as the solution and the terms are fair and reasonable. Yung said. On and off we've had discussions with Apple, even before the initial determination came out.

HTC recently acquired the S3 company producing graphic chips for mobile terminals and not only, and the Asian company could try to exchange licenses with Apple. Although Google has promised to help the company from Taiwan, it seems that at the moment the way of discussion is preferred over a possible meeting in court, and probably that's exactly what Apple wants. HTC could risk a ban on imports of its products in the US, but I for one believe that everything will end with a licensing agreement that will require a payment from HTC or a license exchange agreement.
