Safari Upload Enabler 1.0.3 update available, allows files to be uploaded directly from Safari

Safari Upload Enabler is a tweak for iDevices released almost 3 weeks ago in Cydia that allows uploading files from an iDevice to a website. Apple has blocked the function of uploading files from within iOS, so we can't upload anything from our iDevice to any website. This tweak activates that option for all users and for all websites, so we will no longer have to use special applications to upload files from our terminal to the websites of some web services. The tweak comes with a module that allows uploading files from a computer directly to our iDevices, so we can transfer anything directly to our device.

Unfortunately iOS 4.0/4.1 are not supported by this tweak so do not install it on those versions of iOS because it will not work. Version 1.0.3 of the tweak was released last evening in Cydia and it brings the following news:

  • Fixed crash in Photo/Video picker
  • Fix JavaScript issues that prevented some websites from working properly
  • New: remember last used folder in file picker
  • New: option allowing to show the app name in /var/mobile/Applications instead of the long guid value for AppStore app

Safari Upload Enabler is available in Cydia for $1.49 in the BigBoss repo.
