Apple implements in iOS 5 an earthquake warning system for the Japanese

You all already know that at the beginning of this year, Japan was hit by a series of earthquakes that paralyzed, in part, the activity of one of the richest countries on the globe. The impact was strong, it was also felt beyond the Asian continent, but it was important for the Japanese to fix what was broken as quickly as possible and to save as many people as possible. In the idea of saving human lives and goods, Apple implemented in iOS 5 an earthquake warning system that currently only works in Japan. The iOS system is connected to a national earthquake warning system that the Japanese put into operation in 2007. This system can notify the Japanese up to 2 minutes before an earthquake occurs and has been used successfully countless times so far. .

Japan has the most advanced earthquake early-warning system in the world. A nationwide online system launched in 2007, it detects tremors, calculates an earthquake's epicenter and sends out brief warnings from its 1,000-plus seismographs scattered throughout the country, one of the most earthquake-prone nations on the planet.

The respective Japanese system will be automatically accessed by iOS 5, which will display in the Notifications Center notifications about the possible occurrence of an earthquake. Users will have an option in Settings>Notifications Center that will allow them to activate the new system and with its help they will always be notified when a new earthquake occurs. Considering that the system is specially designed for the Japanese, do not expect it to work or be useful in Romania, considering that there are no warning systems in case of an earthquake.
