Apple again blocks sales of Galaxy Tab 10.1 in Germany, removes Galaxy Tab 7.7 from IFA Berlin 2011

Last night I was telling you that Samsung withdrew the recently presented Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet from IFA Berlin 2011 and we speculate that Apple would be behind this decision. On September 2, a German court maintained the initial decision to block sales and promotion of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet and Samsung took the decision to remove the Galaxy Tab 2011 tablet from IFA Berlin 7.7 in order not to risk a possible new conflict with Apple. The decision of September 2 comes after the postponement of the ban on the sale of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in Germany, and the latter could be definitive for the process between the 2 companies.

"Samsung respects the court's decision," Chung said, adding that the company believes it "severely limits consumer choice in Germany." Samsung will pursue all available options, including legal action, to defend its intellectual property rights, he said.

The German court's decision could have much greater implications if the Dutch court, where Apple is seeking to block sales of the Galaxy smartphone series throughout Europe, considers that the Cupertino company's claims are well-founded. A ban imposed on Samsung's subsidiary companies would paralyze the entire distribution process of Galaxy series terminals throughout Europe, but would leave the Asian company with the possibility of distributing them alone. I, for one, am surprised that Samsung decided to withdraw from an international convention an unreleased tablet, but it seems that the company's bosses decide to be very cautious in the face of Apple's attacks.
