The iPhone 5 could have 512 MB of RAM

Today I told you that iOS 5GM it could be released by the end of this month for the iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5G that are now being produced in Apple's partner factories. The information came from Apple Insider which now comes with other details related to the new iPhone 5 terminal. Specifically, it seems that the device could have the same 512 MB RAM as the iPhone 4, it could have the design of the antennas changed and of course it could have the same glass case on the side from behind. Basically, those from AppleInsider claim that the iPhone 5 with the code name N94 will look exactly like the iPhone 4 and will have the same amount of RAM memory, which is entirely possible considering that the iPad 2 has the same hardware.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo told AppleInsider on Monday that Apple's anticipated fifth-generation iPhone will sport the same 512MB of DRAM as the iPhone 4. In addition, the hardware will feature a glass front and back, just like the current iPhone. The so-called "iPhone 5" is also expected to have an improved antenna design, potentially addressing concerns that arose last year when it was discovered that covering the bottom left corner of the iPhone 4 could reduce reception. Although the antenna will be improved, Kuo indicated there will be little change to its shape, and users will not see a discernible difference in its appearance.

Unfortunately, I for one think that the iPhone 5 should have more RAM which, in combination with the A5 chip in the iPad 2, would offer much better performance both in games and in the case of using some video processing applications or in the case of web browsing. Although the iPad 2 with 512 MB RAM is doing well now, in the future it is possible to witness the launch of much more complex applications that require more resources and a larger amount of RAM is more than beneficial. Each iPhone terminal came with double the amount of RAM and the iPhone 5 could be the first exception to this rule.
