Angry Birds – 350 million downloads, 1 million toys sold monthly

The game Angry Birds sa transformed in the "Angry Birds money machine" because Rovio's creation produces considerable amounts of money even outside the virtual world. To begin with, I would like to inform you that Angry Birds has been downloaded more than 350 million times on all the platforms on which it is available, and the figure is enormous for a game dedicated to mobile terminals. However, downloading the game is one thing, but how much do users play? According to a representative of Rovio USA, every day more than 300 million minutes are lost playing Angry Birds, the figure being almost 50% higher than the one presented in the spring of this year.

Gamers have downloaded game developer Rovio's Angry Birds, a popular iPhone slingshot-style game franchise, more than 350 million times, the company's general manager Andrew Stalbow said today.

Mobile device users play the game for more than 300 million minutes each day collectively, Stalbow said. But on top of being a popular game, it's also becoming a massive entertainment franchise that spans multiple media forms. The company's short films on YouTube, for example, have picked up more than 170 million views.

Leaving aside the virtual world, let's go to the real one where Rovio sells all kinds of toys, accessories for mobile phones, clothes, shoes, etc. The Finnish company sells around 1 million clothing items and toys every month, the biggest market being of course China where the game is extremely popular. For Rovio Angry Birds to become the best business, but for Angry Birds to continue to live, evolution is needed, some important changes are needed in the game, changes that Rovio does not seem willing to make.
