The Mac App Store warns you when you try to buy an application you already own

This year Apple launched the Mac App Store, the new application store dedicated exclusively to Mac owners. Of course, the new store works exactly like the iOS App Store, that is, developers must send the applications to Apple and the company will verify them and publish them in the store. Unfortunately, some users owned some of the applications available in the App Store but had bought them directly from the developer's website and when they tried to make a purchase, the App Store did not warn them that they already had that application installed on their Mac.

[App name] is already installed and was not purchased from the Mac App Store

Do you want to buy [app name] again?

Well, starting today, Apple warns users when an application from the Mac App Store is already installed on the Mac but purchased elsewhere. Apple does not allow the transfer of applications from the Mac to the Apple account with which we log in the App Store, but at least now warns us when we are about to give money twice on the same application. If you imagine that Apple would allow you to add to your account applications purchased from the developers' websites and not from the App Store, you'd better change your mind because this will not happen in the near future.
