The Apple conference on October 4 - here's what you can expect

Last night Apple sent journalists from all over the world invited to the iOS 5, iCloud and iPhone 5 presentation event, which will take place on October 4 at the company's campus in Cupertino. Above we have the image that was sent together with the invitation to the event and a lot of speculations were launched about it, several experts analyzing every detail of the symbolism behind the icons and their placement. Of course, no one knows exactly what Apple wanted to say, but a few things are certain: iOS 5, iCloud and at least one new iPhone model will be presented at the conference. Now let's talk about each one separately and see what we can expect.

iOS 5

At WWDC 2011, Apple previewed the new operating system dedicated to its iDevices, something the company has been doing every year since it launched iPhone OS. At the conference on October 4, we will have a much more detailed presentation of the operating system, we will have a new presentation of the functions that we saw at WWDC 2011, but besides them we will also see new ones that Apple has not announced has spoken so far. The phrase "Let's talk iPhone" suggests that the Assistant service we've been hearing about for the past few months could be real and could change the way we interact with our terminals. In the end, iOS 5 GM should be released on October 4 at the latest if the iPhone 5 will be available on October 14, as recent rumors suggest.

iCloud

Just like iOS 5, at WWDC 2011 we had a preview of the new service and at next Tuesday's conference we will have a new presentation, but probably shorter and more conclusive. Apple will probably share with the whole world the feedback received from users, figures regarding the use of the service and all kinds of data of this kind. The company will announce the launch date of the iTunes Match service in the US but also globally, and of course it will announce the prices for which additional space can be purchased in iCloud, although most of them already know them. In the end, we might find out what other news iCloud will contain for users and how MobileMe terminal owners will be affected by this new service.

iPhone 4S/5

Of course, the highlight of the conference on October 4 will be the presentation of the new iPhone, which the company talks about even in the image sent with the invitations to the event. The device is rumored to have a 4-inch screen, A5 chip like the iPad 2, 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM, graphics card 9 times more powerful than iPhone 4, 8 megapixel camera capable of filming HD in 1080p format, a new design and maybe a younger brother called iPhone 4S. I've been writing rumors about the internal components so I think what I've said is enough and I mostly think that the iPhone 5 will contain everything I presented above, except of course the 4-inch screen. As for the price of the new device, you can expect to pay around €600/650 for the 16 GB version and we will be able to make the purchase, most likely starting on October 14 in France, Germany, England, the USA and Japan.

We will definitely see these 3 things presented by Apple at the October 4th conference, all of which are practically part of the new PC-free concept that Apple is promoting for its users. Finally, let's have a little fun with a parody of "deciphering” the symbolism behind the image sent with the invitations to the event.

The Clock icon — "The hands of the clock are pointing at both the number 10 and the number 12. Actually, the second hand is also pointing at the number 12. Add those numbers up — 12 + 12 + 10 — and you get the number 34. This is very telling... Steve Jobs' birth mother Joanne Simpson was remarried to George Simpson when she was 34 years old, which proves that the government is covering up everything that happened at Area 51 in 1966. But I digress. There's a progression there. 3 … 4 … 5! Yes! The iPhone 5 will be announced!"

The Maps icon — "280 in the shield on this icon is an obvious indication that iOS 5 will be released and has 280 new or improved features. The meaning of the intersection of the yellow and orange lines is also obvious to anyone with half a brain — it means that Apple's new products will come in two colors, orange and yellow. The red pin signifies that this icon might fall off of the web page and someone stuck a pin into it to keep that from happening."

The Phone icon — “Ah, yes, the number 1. It can mean many things. One is the loneliest number, and its location on the upper right-hand corner of the icon has special meaning. That points to the northeast, and in the old days of America, that's where witches were burned — in the northeast part of the country. It is obvious to anyone that there is magic and witchcraft involved in the design of the new phones. The green pinstripes on the background portend an event where all of the Apple executives will be wearing suits. The white phone icon even has deep meaning. Note that it looks exactly like a silhouette of a fetus, which points to the birth of a new era of technology, cheap beer, and world peace."
