The famous Boeing company in collaboration with the prestigious MIT university has developed a system that allows a simple iDevice to control a miniature airplane thousands of kilometers away using a simple application. In the clip above we have a demonstration of how this new system works and we are shown a drone from the MIT campus that is controlled by an iPod Touch located 3.000 miles away. The technology is of course developed for military applications and for now everything is done on a small scale, then the army will apply the concept to the drones it uses in wars.

The idea behind this project is to offer any type of user the opportunity to control a drone thousands of kilometers away, and in this case the army needs something like this to bomb or spy on various areas of the globe where a plane large size could not be used. At the moment, everything is moving towards robotization and the internet, so in the future, wars could be fought by robots in our place, and the people from Boeing show us a small preview of what is to come. Of course, these technologies could also be applied in commercial interests for commercial flights, but for now no one really invests in their development.
