Last evening EA Games published in the App Store FIFA 12, the newest version of the game in the series that has enjoyed enormous popularity over the years. The new version of the game brings better graphics, a new module called mode manager and the possibility to use the iPad tablet as a console and the iPhone terminals as gamepads. Practically, the iPad tablet becomes the environment in which the game runs and we use the iPhone terminals as gamepads to control the movements of the players, EA Games being the first company to introduce this system in a football game from the App Store.
Unfortunately, you will find out with disappointment that to benefit from this system you have to pay €12 in the App Store because you have to purchase both the iPad version of FIFA 12 and the iPhone/iPod Touch version of the game. Instead of making a universal application that allows users to test the new system at will, EA Games asks us to buy two separate applications and from my point of view their solution is not the best. In the end, the game is worth the money, but a universal application with a single price would have been much more useful.
UPDATE: EA has released a separate application called EA Gamepad that allows the use of an iPhone/iPod Touch as a gamepad for the iPad, the application you can download here.
