Samsung introduces actions in the courts to block the sale of the iPhone 4S in France and Italy

Although Apple presented the new iPhone 4S last evening and the launch is programmed for October 14, Samsung already announced that he will introduce actions in the courts of France and Italy through which he will ask to block the sales of the new device of the company from Cupertino. Today in Milan and Paris, the company's lawyers have already introduced the respective actions and in them it is mentioned that the iDevices of the Apple company infringe two patents related to the 3G WCDMA technology and of course they demand the blocking of the sales of the iPhone 4S terminal.

Samsung Electronics will file separate preliminary injunction motions in Paris, France and Milan, Italy on October 5 local time requesting the courts to block the sale of Apple's iPhone 4S in the respective markets. The infringed technology is essential to the reliable functioning of telecom networks and devices and Samsung believes that Apple's violation is too severe and that the iPhone 4S should be barred from sales. Apple has continued to flagrantly violate our intellectual property rights and free ride on our technology. We believe it is now necessary to take legal action to protect our innovation.

In France, the iPhone 4S would be launched next Friday and in Italy at the end of this month, so the courts where the requests were submitted should issue an urgent decision so that the device is not sold in stores. Now the disputes between the 2 companies will become more interesting because Apple has a brand new terminal that might not be available to customers in certain countries if Samsung manages to convince a court that the terminals really infringe certain patents. Of course, Apple will send its best lawyers in the fight and we will find out the outcome in a few days/weeks.
