The iOS 5 released this evening by Apple is identical to the GM version released just a week ago, so redsn0w can do tethered jailbreak without any problem. MuscleNerd says that redsn0w will be updated to automatically jailbreak for iOS 5 without the need to use an ipsw from the computer, but until then the old method works without problems. I remind you that redsn0w only does tethered jailbreak for all iDevices, except for the iPad 2 tablet which is currently not compatible.
